To discuss with Stakeholders on the way forward in the nation's steel sector;

To obtain inputs for the development of metal regulations in Nigeria;

To collate views and opinions on how to handle Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL) and National Iron Ore Mines Company (NIOMCO) as Government growing concern;

To establish a culture of dialogue between Government and Steel companies in Nigeria;

To secure the buy-in of Stakeholders on the activities of the Ministry's Iron and Steel Research Agencies;

To generate information for the development of a Data bank on metals in Nigeria;

To develop a roadmap for Nigeria's steel development before year 2020.
